custom progamming
Custom programming is the ability to make one thing happen if or when another thing happens. For instance, someone clicks on a website button and they are then taken to another page. That is a very simple example of programming.
An extreme example would be, someone types in their property address into a form and clicks the submit button. The property address is then stored in a database along with the name of the search engine that the user used to find the site in the first place. The address is then sent to the good folks at Zillow.com who sends back an idea of what that home is worth along with similar homes that have sold recently and all types of other useful data for all these homes.
The data for those homes, like their address, is sent to the good folks at Google.com who sends back the longitude and latitude coordinates for these homes. The longitude and latitude information provided by Google.com is then sent back to Google.com who help us generate not only a map of those homes but also a street view so we can see what they look like from the curb.
If you didn’t follow all of that don’t worry. The point is, if you want something to happen on the web when something else happens we can make that happen with programming.
For those of you who are interested to know, we favor PHP, JavaScript, and Ajax running on an Apache server.
Please feel free to call us and tell us what you want to happen and when you want it to happen. We’ll tell you how we can make it happen.
